About Mrs. Wacek

Hello! My name is Beth Wacek, and I have been the music teacher at St. Joseph School since 2017 and the Director of Music and Liturgy for the parish since 2016. I have a bachelor’s in music education from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and previously worked in Catholic schools in Madison and Durand. My husband Mark and I have two children, Zach and Miriam, and a cat named Lurvy. In my spare time I love to read, do creative art projects, cook, and play in concert bands around the area. I play over a dozen instruments and enjoy singing in choir.

At St. Joseph’s School I teach Pre-K through 5th grade music, 3rd and 4th grade recorder classes, 5th grade ukulele, and handchime choir. I also direct a Christmas Program and Spring Concert each year. As the parish Director of Music and Liturgy, I coordinate and direct the parish choirs, choose the hymns for weekend Masses, and create the slides that are displayed during Mass. Each week, I work with the students and classroom teachers to prepare for the Friday school Mass. It is a beautiful experience to see the students excited to read the scriptures, pray the intentions, and lead the congregation in song each week. I feel so blessed to be able to share my faith and talent with the students and parishioners at St. Joseph’s.
