About Mrs. Heike
I grew up in a strong Catholic family that instilled the importance of God and family in my life at a very young age. This was supported by my own education at Assumption Catholic School from grades 1-8. Being a part of a school with others who shared similar values was something that I always appreciated as a child. I am even more grateful now, as a parent of children who attend St. Joseph School, to give my children this gift as well. My love for teaching was sparked in those formative years as I had many amazing teachers who made learning exciting and fun! I find great joy in being a part of each student’s learning journey and helping each child discover the gifts God has blessed them with.
I have over 10 years of teaching experience in grades K-3 in a Catholic school setting. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. I taught for 7 years before taking a leave to stay home with my children. I returned to the classroom in the fall of 2020 at St. Joe’s. I am thankful to be a part of St. Joseph School as both a parent and teacher. I love that I am surrounded by wonderful families, amazing children, and hard working staff who truly cares about the success and well-being of each child.
My husband, John, and I have three children who attend/ed St. Joseph School. Our school has helped nurture and build a solid foundation academically and spiritually for our children. We are so very thankful and blessed to have this school in our community.
